The Training & Development Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of training, development, and talent initiatives, specifically Talent Development & Succession Planning, within Millennium Furniture. This role will collaborate closely with Corporate Learning & Development, HR Business Partners and Millennium Leadership to identify needs, develop effective learning solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning, with a strong focus on building a sustainable talent pipeline for the organization.
- Needs Assessment & Strategy Execution
- Conduct in-depth learning needs assessments within Millennium Furniture, focusing on performance gaps, employee development requirements, and the specific needs for building a talent pipeline and succession.
- Execute and support the overarching Learning & Development (L&D) strategy established by the L&D Manager - VN Operations, ensuring alignment with Millennium's business goals and talent management strategy.
- Keep up with the latest developments and best practices in succession planning, talent development, and training that are relevant to the Millennium plant.
- Program Design & Development
- Design, develop, and curate engaging and effective learning solutions tailored for the Millennium Furniture workforce, including but not limited to:
- Onboarding programs for new employees.
- Soft skills training relevant to the local cultural context.
- Leadership development programs for different levels within Millennium.
- Talent Development and Succession Planning programs for high potential employees and various management levels.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders within Millennium to ensure content accuracy and relevance to the company's specific operations setting.
- Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create impactful learning experiences.
- Program Implementation & Facilitation
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of training and development programs across all Millennium Furniture departments.
- Coordinate and support the facilitation of training sessions (both in-person and virtual), demonstrating strong presentation and facilitation skills adaptable to the factory’s audiences.
- Manage logistics, communication, and participant enrollment for learning programs within Millennium.
- Ensure consistent application of learning programs and standards as defined by VN Operations.
- Learning Technologies & Infrastructure Management
- Operate and optimize the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver, track, and report on learning activities for all employees at Millennium Furniture.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance within the LMS, adhering to local data privacy regulations.
- Assist the L&D Manager - VN Operations in exploring and recommending new learning technologies and tools suitable for the Vietnamese infrastructure and workforce.
- Evaluation & Measurement
- Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning and development programs, especially talent development initiatives, on employee performance and business outcomes at Millennium.
- Analyze data and provide regular reports on program effectiveness to the L&D Manager - VN Operations and Millennium leadership, identifying areas for improvement.
- Cultural Sensitivity & Localization
- Ensure all learning and development programs are culturally responsive and relevant to the Millennium workforce, considering local customs, values, and communication styles.
- Reference learning materials and content from Ashley L&D where necessary, translate materials and modify instructional strategies to accommodate Vietnamese linguistic and cultural norms.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Preferably possess in-depth experience in Talent Development and Succession Planning.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in L&D, with significant experience supporting operations in Vietnam or other Southeast Asian countries.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing a wide range of L&D programs specifically for a Vietnamese workforce.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and reporting for a large, diverse employee base.
- Strong understanding of learning principles and instructional design methodologies, with the ability to apply them effectively in the local site and Vietnamese context.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment and understanding the training needs of production and technical roles is highly desirable.

- Expertise in Instructional Design methodologies and adult learning principles applied to the Vietnamese context.
